Sonowal visits COVID Care Centres in Guwahati

Guwahati, May 7: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today visited COVID Care Centres set up at Sarusajai Sports Complex and Royal Global University here and inspected the facilities, while also interacting with COVID 19 positive patients recuperating at the centres.


Speaking with them over a loud speaker, Sonowal said the government has also ramped up its infrastructure to make sure that nobody is deprived of treatment. He asked the authorities to keep oxygen facilities ready, along with other ancillaries. Later, talking to reporters, Sonowal said the district administrations have been asked to gear up to tackle the situation. Taking into consideration the present situation, the government, with the help of the people of all sections, have taken several proactive steps to contain the pandemic, he said.


He urged upon the media to play the role of a catalyst to generate awareness among the people to motivate them to adhere to COVID protocols. Sonowal also lauded the work of Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma and others in tackling the second wave of the pandemic.


He also said that an adequate system has been put in place to roll out vaccination drives to inoculate all sections of the people.
