Silchar July 31: Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi visited Lailapur along the Assam-Mizoram border and echoed solidarity towards people of Barak Valley and Assam in this critical phase of interstate conflict.
Talking to reporters here in Circuit House, Gogoi said, "we might have disagreements in the Assembly but I strongly oppose the move by Mizoram. The FIR filed against the Assam Chief Minister by Mizoram must be withdrawn."
It may be mentioned that on Friday, a case was filed at Vairengte Police station under Kolasib district against Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, IGP Anurag Agarwal, Devojyoti Mukherjee DIG Southern Range, former Cachar SP Vaibhav Chandrkant Nimbalkar, Cachar DC Keerthi Jalli Cachar DFO Sunnydeo Choudhuy, OC Dholai Police station Sahabuddin and 200 unidentified Assam Police personnel.
