
Guwahati, April 5: Assam girl Alisha Farheen has been selected for the India team for the 6th Roll Ball World Cup to be held on Pune, Maharashtra from 21st - 26th April, 2023.
While sharing this news, the Assam Roll Ball Association wished her a grand success for the World Cup berth.
Alisha Farheen who hails from Abhayapuri in Bongaigaon district of Assam is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree at Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat. Alisha has been playing roll ball from the last 10 years since her school days. She has represented Assam on the National level for more than 13 tournaments including the Student Games Federation in India (SFGI) Nationals and has won several medals on state and national level.
Apart from Alisha, another player from Assam Anurag Basfor has been listed in standby in the men's team.
The 6th Roll Ball World Cup 2023 is going to be held at Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Pune- Maharashtra from 21st to 26th April 2023 organized by Roll Ball Federation of India (RBFI) & Maharashtra Roll Ball Association (MRBA) under the aegis of International Roll Ball Federation (IRBF), 40 teams from 5 Continents totalling to around 500 players are expected to participate in the event.
Roll Ball is a game played between two teams, and is a unique combination of roller skates, basketball, handball and throwball. It is played on "roller shoes". Each team consists of 12 players, six on the field and six in reserve. The main objective of the game is to score maximum goals within a stipulated time.
