Silchar, June 19: A pregnant woman in Assam's Silchar has delivered a baby boy weighing 5.2 kg, which doctors claim to be the heaviest weight at birth for a newborn in the State.
It was a case of complex late-delivery and a team of senior doctors at a government hospital performed the caesarean section procedure carefully on Tuesday.
The delivery was due on May 29, but the parents had delayed going to a hospital for fear of contracting Covid19.
