Two APDCL employees caught red handed while accepting bribe in Nagaon

Raha, May 11:  The sleuths of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption caught two Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) employees red-handed while accepting a bribe in Nagaon on Saturday. 

According to reports, the two accused, identified as Mintu Bora and Bhaskar Jyoti Sarma, worked at the Samaguri ASEB sub-divisional office and took Rs. 7,000 from a consumer for giving him relief from a fine against an electricity bypass connection.

According to the information received, Mintu Bora, a contractual employee, was caught red-handed by the vigilance team while accepting the bribe and Bhaskar Jyoti Sarma, a Meter Reader, was apprehended from the Barghat area of Nagaon after Bora's allegations that he was also involved in the crime.

Further investigation is underway.
