Raha: Mobile phone thief attempts to escape, caught again

Raha, Mar 30: A thief accused of stealing mobile phones tried to flee from a police vehicle on Thursday at Raha. The incident took place near Raha Higher Secondary School under Raha police station.

However, police took immediate action and caught the thief immediately. Notably, the thief identified as Nurul Haque (22) was arrested by the police after a case of phone theft was lodged against him.

He was being taken to the Raha Ranthali civil hospital for a check up following the escape from the police vehicle.

Police sources said, " We took the accused to the hospital for his medical checkup.

We were about to cross police barricades near Raha HS School when he all of a sudden jumped out of the vehicle and fled.

We immediately caught him and he is now in our custody." The accused is an inhabitant of Chalchali, Nagaon.
