Guwahati, March 29: After a great win by Assam Boxer Lovlina Borgohain at IBA Women's World Boxing Championship, the Assam Government announced a reward of Rs. 50 lakhs to the champion on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma made this announcement at the Assam Assembly.
Notably, the announcement comes after Lovlina, won her first gold medal at the World Championships on March 26.
The champion defeated Australian boxer Caitlin Parker a two-time Commonwealth Games medallist in the 75kg final of the IBA Women's World Boxing Championship which took place in New Delhi with a split 5-2 verdict.
