Assam: 3.5 magnitude earthquake jolts Cachar

Silchar, Jan 17: A mild intensity earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter Scale jolted Assam's Cachar district on Sunday midnight at 2:11 am.

According to the District Disaster Management Authority here, the depth of the quake was 35 kms across 24.7 N latitude and 92.72 E longitude of the district. The DDMA authorities said that there has been no damage reported so far from anywhere in the district, however, they are analysing the impact.

Meanwhile, another mild earthquake hit the Northeastern State of Manipur. An earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter Scale jolted Kangpokpi in Manipur. The depth of the quake was 20 kms across 25.16 N latitude and 93.90 E longitude of the district.
